Personalities in South Kurdistan condemn Turkey's attacks

34 personalities in South Kurdistan, including writers, journalists and academics, condemned Turkey's attacks.

34 personalities in South Kurdistan, including writers, journalists and academics, issued a joint statement to protest Turkey's attacks on the region.

The joint statement said: "The Turkish army has once again launched a military operation against PKK forces in various regions of Behdinan. There is a great plan and danger behind these cross-border operations and invasion attacks. Turkey's operation is not only a violation of the sovereignty of Kurdistan and Iraq, but also the devaluation of international law. There are doubts that the operation will be expanded. We, as writers, journalists and academics in Kurdistan, express our dissatisfaction with this attack and the Turkish occupation and condemn the attacks. We hope that the people of Kurdistan and their political parties will feel the danger behind this aggression by the Turkish army, and that they will take a national stance and cooperation. Since we have the right, we want to know from the Kurdistan Region government, relevant parties and the Ministry of Peshmerga the reason for their attacks and why the government is still silent. In our opinion, military attacks against the Kurdish Freedom Movement in North Kurdistan will not make any difference in the demand for the rights of the Kurdish people. No reality can be changed by denying the truth. In our opinion, there is no way of peace and a radical solution other than democracy and negotiation.”
