People on the streets against poverty in Kermanshah

The protests that started against poverty and regime policies in Meshed, Iran yesterday continue. Citizens have taken to the streets in Kermanshah, Rojhilat and continue their protests with the slogan, “Leave Syria alone, look at us”.

In Iran, yesterday’s protests against poverty in various cities including Meshed continued today. Calls to the streets were issued in 18 cities after protests of yesterday.

In Rojhilat’s (Eastern Kurdistan) Kermanshah, one of the cities where calls were made, large numbers of citizens started to gather in the Azadi Boulevard and the square from 8 a.m.

Citizens frequently chanted “Leave Syria alone, look at us”, “Death to dictatorship”, “People reduced to beggars, mullahs play god" in the protest, which continues still.

On the other hand, in Iran’s capital Tehran, security precautions have been raised to the maximum level and similar precautions have been taken in many cities. In Khurmabad, Loristan people are on the streets as well.

Meanwhile, several people have been detained in Meshed after yesterday’s protests. Meshed Revolutionary Court Chair Hasan Haydari announced that 52 people have been detained.
