Constant military operations conducted by joined forces of the People’s Defense Units (YPG) and the Women’s Defense Units (YPJ) continue to confront the ISIS gangs attempting occupation efforts near the city of Hesekê, Rojava.
In today's written statement about the ongoing fighting in Rojava, West Kurdistan, YPG Press Office said Defense Units launched an operation against ISIS groups deployed in Hesekê city center from two directions last night.
The first direction of the operation targeted the region from Juvenile's Prison and tha village of Tal'a which witnessed fierce clashes between YPG/YPJ forces and ISIS gangs. While the exact number of casualties on ISIS side couldn't be verified, corpses of 4 ISIS militants were seized.
From the second direction, YPG/YPJ advanced from Ezîziyê neighborhood to the south of Hesekê. The village of Fellah in this region was cleansed of gangs and liberated as a result of the operation, while the number of casualties couldn't be verified here either.
OPERATIONS TARGETING THE GANGS CONTINUE IN KOBANÊ
YPG Media Center announced that the YPG/YPJ operations to the south and east of Kobanê and the clashes between YPG/YPJ forces and ISIS gangs continue. YPG stated that the gangs carried out a simultaneous attack on Qilhayde, Sîna, Erganê, Nurelî and Sepeta Ereban villages to the south of Kobanê last night, but this attack was soon repelled and ended with ISIS failure.
YPG Media Center stated that ISIS gangs also attacked Fatfê village to the east of Kobanê and 5 gang members were killed during the clashes here. 2 gang bodies and 2 thermal binoculars were also seized here.
GANGS TRYING TO INFILTRATE INTO NESTEL VILLAGE PREVENTED
YPG Media Center stated that 3 ISIS gang members tried to infiltrate Nestel village located 24 km to the west of Mebrûka last night. YPG forces prevented this infiltration attempt as they killed 1 gang member and caused the other 2 to escape through the border. YPG stated that its operation to capture the 2 ISIS gangs that managed to escape continues.
