Nasir Yagiz on day 81 of hunger strike in Hewler

Despite his extremely critical situation, Yagiz continues his hunger strike on day 81.

An indefinite and non-alternating hunger strike by Kurdish activist Nasir Yagiz in Hewler (Erbil) continues on the 81st day. Yagiz’s health condition is gradually deteriorating.

Another hunger strike is taking place at the HDP’s representation office in Hewler, South Kurdistan where members of the 41st group have taken over the hunger strike. Despite his extremely critical situation, Yagiz continues his hunger strike on day 81.

Kurdish activist from the new group of hunger strikers, Mizgîn Arî stated that the campaign has entered a new phase, adding that Yagiz was decisive to endure his hunger strike.

Arî stressed that the hunger strike campaign was a new chance for the Kurdish people to rise up and stand against the isolation of Ocalan. Arî urged the people of South Kurdistan and local organizations to step up their support for the hunger strike.

Moreover, a number of individuals and institutions continue their visits to the hunger strikers at the HDP office in Hewler.
