Mother of hunger striker Yağız warns of life danger for her son

Muazzez Yağız underlined that not only her son Nasır Yağız, but also Leyla Güven and the other hunger strikers are facing a very critical stage.

On the 109th day of his hunger strike, HDP Hewler representative, Nasır Yağız, is suffering from a severe deterioration of his health.

The Kurdish hunger striker’s mother, Muazzez Yağız, spoke about the health condition of her son and confirmed he is getting worse.

Muazzez Yağız underlined that not only her son, but also Leyla Güven and the other hunger strikers are facing a very critical stage.

Recalling the demands of the hunger strikers, Muazzez Yağız said: "All we want is for the demands of the hunger strikers to be met as soon as possible. It’s enough, we don’t want more mothers crying for their children. We are watching our children melting away every passing day. We just want isolation to be removed and peace.”

Give voice to the hunger strikers

Muazzez Yağız said that her son Nasır’s health condition is getting worse every passing day. “In the morning he is not getting up. Friends have to help him to get him on his feet. At night he cannot sleep because of headaches. His heart beat is unstable, and at times he cannot breathe. Until now he has lost 13 kilos.”

Emphasizing that everyone should stand up against isolation, Muazzez Yağız made the following call: "Our people should stand up. They need to take to the streets everywhere. They should give voice to the hunger strikers. Enough of mothers crying for their children.”
