While Turkish police forces raided many houses and carried out large number of detentions in various cities and districts across the Kurdish region this morning, reports are coming through about more detentions and arrests in the region.

Accordingly, 7 people have been detained in Van this morning in simultaneous house raids carried out by anti-terror teams in Süphan, Şabaniye, Karşıyaka, Hacıbekir neighbourhoods of Edremit and İpekyolu districts.

It has been reported that Bager Köydeniz, Mazlum Harmancı, Muaz Babat, Halil Erol (13), Müslüm Dilek (17) and two others whose names could not be learned were detained and taken to the police headquarters.

In the meantime 11 people, including 3 children, who had been detained and released afterwards on 30 May, have now been arrested again on the objection of the prosecutor’s office against their release.

The 11 persons, including 3 children had been detained on 30 May on the grounds of being a member of the youth organisation YDG-H. The 11 people were detained this morning once again in raids in their houses and then formally arrested by the court on the grounds of “being a member of an organisation” and taken to Siirt E Type Prison.
Meanwhile, a university student, and a member of Dersim Free Students Association (DÖDER) has been detained this morning on the grounds of attending the funeral of the YPG fighter Hüseyin Tutuman (Gabar Dersim), who lost his life in Til Temir last week.

The detainee, Ozan Başdinç, has been reportedly taken to the police headquarters in Dersim and he is expected to be referred to the court in the coming hours following the procedures at the police department.
