MLKP Rojava issued a written statement and said that Sevda Çağdaş, codenamed Raperin Dicle, fell as martyr during the clashes on June 25 as part of the operation to liberate Manbij from ISIS gangs launched by the Syrian Democratic Forces on June 1.

‘OUR COMRADE SHOWED TURKISH PEOPLE THEIR RANKS OF RESISTANCE’

In its statement, MLKP Rojava noted that the Manbij initiative preparing the end of fascist ISIS gangs and colonialist bourgeois states such as Turkey continues at full force, and Raperin Dicle (Sevda Çağdaş) fell as martyr during the clashes with ISIS gangs at the western entrance of Manbij on June 25. MLKP recalled that Çağdaş belonged to a Turkish Alevi family from Sivas, and showed Turkish people their ranks of resistance with her honorable and pioneering stance against fascism.

‘PARTICIPATED IN THE GROUP THAT ENTERED MANBIJ’

MLKP emphasized that Dicle participated in the first group that entered Manbij, and shared the pride of joining the revolution in Rojava. MLKP Rojava highlighted Dicle’s pioneering role in the fight against ISIS, and defended the equality and fraternity of peoples with the consciousness of women’s liberation.

‘AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE 6/7 OCTOBER RESISTANCE’

MLKP Rojava noted that Dicle had taken responsibilities in several organizations and got arreted numerous times, and was at the forefront of the 6/7 October Kobanê resistance in Turkey and North Kurdistan. MLKP stated that Dicle was shot and wounded during this resistance, but continue her struggle as soon as her health improved.

‘BANNER OF FREEDOM WILL BE WAVED EVERYWHERE’

MLKP Rojava described fighting for the victory of Rojava revolution and the struggle for freedom and socialism in Turkey as Dicle’s greatest happiness, and said that Dicle became immortal as she was fighting as a community revolutionary woman.
