Military operations cause not only detrimental effects on people but also on forest as well as generally nature in the region. The fire spreads in Cukurca Forest in Hakkari after military operation exercised and the pastures in Kuyuluhöyük (Herbeli) of Diyarbakir turned the ashes because of opening fire from military helicopters during the operation in the rural area.

In addition the fire on and around Tunceli Mountains is also continuing since there was no attempt to be extinguished by authorities or fire department. .

There was also another fire reported by the locals in Haftanin area in Cukurca district of Hakkari.

Opening fire from low flying helicopters and howitzers are the most reason of these fires, reported by the locals.

The residents of the aforesaid settlements are now at risk of poverty since the most of areas were announced “Military Security Zone.”
