Let the children hear your voice, guerilla Zelal

Let the children hear your voice guerilla Zelal. No matter what their name, gender, race, religion, language, class is, let all the children hear your voice. “We are fighting so that the children after us can live in freedom.”

Guerrilla is the place where we hear this sentence the most, and even the only place. Only the guerillas say this to us. The unyielding fighter of the immortal commanders Reşit Serdar and Rojin Gewda became a seed in Heftanîn and went on a journey to the womb of the South for abundance. All the best, guerilla Zelal Sidem!

My pen was ready to write about you. How cruel this is, like waiting for martyrdom, waiting for death, waiting for a birth, waiting for pain, happiness... Like waiting for many more emotions. As if my pen is waiting for a ready verse. I don’t even apply ink to the tip of my pen. That pencil takes its speed, tempo, energy from the redness of the heroes of Kurdistan. It takes it from the blood-red faces of the fighters of Kurdistan. Those who are immortalized in Kurdistan remind us of ourselves again, shape us up and leave us in the lap of life. After a motionless moment you decide that the vein of life is still pulsing and you move on; more revengeful, more furious, more vivacious, but sometimes also willing to go with them...

They put a smile on our lips again. The martyrs are the ones who win life in the guerilla. They are the gains of the lands and the people of Kurdistan. They are its abundance. Did it becoma a habit that the fighters even smile on their most sad days? This path is worth to walk until the end. If you lost a comrade who was a part of you, it is your duty to carry their dreams out and to live and fight. Paying the price with a life is enough to fight for this cause. She was perhaps one of the most beautiful and most heavy losses of the Battle of Heftanîn (Cenga Heftanîn). She has led the battle since the very beginning of Cenga Heftanîn. She took the fields together with her fighters dozens of times and met the invaders with her zilgit (traditional Kurdish ululation). Gerilla Zelal Sidem became a guerilla who turned the Şeşdara area into a nightmare for the men of the invading Turkish army.

Gerilla Zelal Sidem was named after one of the great guerilla commanders Zelal Mardin, whose name is perhaps still alive in the history of Kurdistan women's liberation and army, and with whom everyone wanted to fight when she was alive. And her journey of heroism started like this. It has started with the immortal commander Zelal Mardin and it continued with immortal commander Zelal Sidem from Amed. Therefore, with the role played by the YJA Start guerillas in Cenga Heftanîn, it must be said that the Kurdistan women's struggle has moved to a new stage.

Guerilla Zelal Sidem was one of the YJA Star guerillas who played a major role in the great Cenga Heftanîn offensive against the invaders since the beginning and fought against them with rage. Zelal Sidem stayed in several areas of the Freedom Movement for years. Every time that guerilla Zelal, who was a fighter of the great immortal commander Reşit Serdar, met the invaders in the tough areas of Zagros, she dealt the invaders a blow and shouted; ‘We are the fighters of Reşit Serdar. We won’t even allow your shadow in these lands.” From Zagros to Heftanîn, Guerilla Zelal has led this life in several areas. She led the resistance almost everywhere in Cenga Heftanîn. She caught the attention of everyone with her anger towards the invaders in Gelî and with her will formed through her woman stance in Şeşdara.

The words of her comrade who heard about her martyrdom in Heftanîn on the 23rd of July, describes how she fought, what role she played and how willingly she fought: “Every time the enemy wanted to enter Şeşdara, even when she just heard about the attempts of the enemy she was bursting with anger. ‘How can the enemy enter these lands’ she said. She was the spirit of the offensive. She was truly filled with rage against the enemy, just like Reşit Serdar. She was walking in the mountains like Rojin Gewda. If heval Zelal also fell şehid, we must win this war. She had a lot of role in this, a lot.”

Let the children open the ears of their heart to hear your voice. Guerilla Zelal Sidem fought for your freedom. Kurdistan gave birth to another martyr. Let the palms of the lands open its bosom now...
