Kurdish delegation appointed to lead negotiations with Damascus

Following the "Rojava Kurdish Unity and Common Stance Conference," a delegation has been formed to lead negotiations with the Damascus government.

After the "Rojava Kurdish Unity and Common Stance Conference" held on 26 April 2025, in Rojava, a joint Kurdish delegation was established to conduct talks with the Damascus administration. The delegation officially began its work with a founding meeting held on 4 June.

Present at the meeting were:

Rohilat Efrîn, member of the General Command of the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ)

Îlham Ehmed, member of the Conference Council

The mission of the delegation is to conduct negotiations with the Syrian regime on the rights of the Kurdish people and to develop a joint political stance with international actors and political parties in Kurdistan. The talks are expected to begin in the coming days.
