According to a report by the RojNews agency based in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, forces of the ruling KDP abducted three young men from the village of Guherzê. The village in the Amêdîyê district is located on the western front of the Zap region defended by the PKK guerrillas against the Turkish invasion troops and has already been bombed dozens of times by Turkey. The KDP, dominated by the Barzanî clan, is openly collaborating with the Erdoğan regime and supporting the Turkish occupation in southern Kurdistan.

Citing a local source, RojNews reported that the arrested men from Guherzê filmed attacks by the Turkish army on the region a few days ago using mobile phones and published the recordings. According to reports, the Turkish military base in the region located the three men and ordered the KDP to arrest them. In response, a KDP force stormed Guherzê and carried out the order. The arrested men are said to be Awar Muhammed Tahir, Rêdûr Tofiq and Amed Tofiq, and they have been held in the Asayîş (local security) office in Duhok for three days. Their telephones have been confiscated.

The RojNews reported that local residents have been arrested for the same reason before, including Menaf Nezmi, Xalid Necib, Ahmed Ibrahim, Talib Musa, Hewar Musa, Ibrahim Cebrail and Bedel Nuri, who were held for six months in a KDP prison for doing so.

In mid-November, RojNews published footage of the construction of a new Turkish military base near Guherzê. Turkish troops have also been building a military road to Zap near the village for some time.
