KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) Executive Council Co-Presidency has released a statement to mark the anniversary of Şirin Elemhuli, Ali Hayderyan, Ferzad Kemanger and Ferhad Vekili who were executed by the Iranian regime on 9 May 2010.
KCK commented the execution of four Kurdish revolutionaries as a practice of the execution, plot and assassination policy the Iranian state pursues against the Kurdish people demanding freedom and democracy.
Remarking that peoples and societies do not accept the sense of ruling by repression, KCK said that Kurds have defeated the policy of intimidation with death thanks to the struggle they have waged for dozens of years now. “In this regard, no matter who does what, policies execution against Kurds will backfire and hit the offender”, it stressed.
KCK recalled that they as KCK have numerous of times warned before that these policies would heighten the tension between Kurds and the Islamic Republic of Iran, and stated that dialogue and negotiation was the only way to come up with a solution to the problems between Iran and the peoples.
Kurdistan Communities Union also underlined that the Persian, Kurdish, Azeri, Belluci and Arab peoples in Iran could achieve coexistence on the basis of the sense of democratic nation which would allow them live with their own identity, culture, autonomous administration and mother-tongue education.
Today's nationalist and pro-nation state tendencies go against the history of Iran and the Middle East, KCK underlined, saying that the Iranian regime must definitively end executions to achieve the unity befitting its history.
KCK condemned the execution of four Kurdish politicians, which it described as a practice deepening the problems between Kurds and the Iranian state and eliminating the chance of coexistence, and called on the Iranian regime to practice dialogue and negotiation for a resolution of its problems with the Kurds.
Regarding yesterday's incident in Mahabad, where a young Kurdish woman committed suicide to avoid rape by Iranian intelligence officers, KCK said the incident caused public indignation and made the people display their fair reaction across many cities.
KCK ended its statement by urging the Iranian state to investigate the case and punish those responsible.
