KCK: Our people should stand up for the martyrs

KCK Executive Council Co-Presidency described the denial of delivery of martyrs' bodies into North Kurdistan as an attack on the Kurdish people, their history and future.

KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) Executive Council Co-Presidency has released a statement regarding the denial of permission by Turkey for the delivery of the bodies of 13 YPG/YPJ fighters to their families.

Bodies of 13 Kurdish fighters are being held at Habur border gate for the past four days as the Turkish state keeps denying permission for their delivery into North Kurdistan, the Kurdish region in Turkey.

Remarking that bodies of 13 YPG/YPJ fighters are being kept waiting at the border gate under a heat of 50 degrees, KCK emphasized that; “Besides its attacks on our people and all their values, the Turkish state is now attacking the bodies of our martyrs who are sacred for the entire humanity.”

Describing the denial of delivery of martyrs' bodies as an attack on the Kurdish people, their history and future, KCK said a mindset and political power that has brought its attacks to such a degree could be expected to do anything. "Accepting this disrespect to our martyrs means paving the way for any attack, offensiveness and atrocity. Our people should manifest their rejection to this insult on our martyrs."

KCK underlined that not only the people of Silopi but all Kurdistan people and the Kurds in Turkish cities should stand up and claim the martyrs.

"Claiming our martyrs is claiming our existence, free and democratic living and future", KCK said, and called on democratic powers also to embrace the martyrs and to bid farewell to them in gorgeous funeral ceremonies.
