KCK calls for total resistance against attacks by AKP

KCK Executive Council Co-Presidency has released a statement calling for total resistance in all cities and towns of Northern Kurdistan against the attacks of state forces ruled by AKP government.

KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) Executive Council Co-Presidency has released a statement calling for total resistance in all cities and towns of Northern Kurdistan against the attacks of state forces ruled by AKP government.

KCK called attention to the attacks conducted on Kurdish people by forces of neo-fascist Erdoğan who pledged to 'do whatever is necessary, whether to women or children'.

Remarking that the political parties, non-governmental organizations and press in Turkey didn't manifest remarkable reaction to the attacks, KCK said this silence and unresponsiveness was the answer to the question why there exists Kurdish issue in Turkey, and why it cannot be settled. KCK underlined that Erdoğan and AKP government conducted these fascist attacks by taking courage from the lack of reaction within the society.

Describing the murder of civilians, children and youths in Gever and Cizre as not a particular case but a state policy, KCK said these attacks manifested AKP's mindset and policies, and what would be done from now on as well.

"The Kurdish people made a fair and right decision to declare their self-rule after the AKP government neglected the 28 February Dolmabahçe Agreement and adopted an authoritarian and repressive stance counter to the message given by results of the June 7 elections for democratization and solution of the Kurdish question. The Kurdish people did so because they wouldn't possibly be able to remain silent in the face of the AKP's elimination policies against the freedom and democracy struggle they have waged at the cost of heavy prices for 40 years. The Kurdish people upset the AKP's games and elimination plans by responding to its attacks with an initiative for democratic autonomy. No matter how aggressive the AKP might be, the Kurdish people's initiative for democratic autonomy will definitively triumph and enable democratization in Turkey."

The statement also underlined that the self-rule project of the Kurdish people also meant the attainment of free and democratic living for other identities such as Alevis, and self-rule of the peoples across the country. In consideration of this truth, KCK said all the democracy forces in Turkey should stand by the people of Cizre, Gever, Şırnak, Silvan and Varto and their resistance which is meant to achieve democratization in the entire country.

Noting that the attacks on civilians in the Kurdish region actually targeted all the peoples in Turkey, KCK underlined that democratization in Turkey wouldn't be possible unless the peoples in the country see this truth and adopt a stance accordingly.

Pointing to the fact that attacks by AKP government mainly targeted the areas of the most dynamic and revolutionary resistance, KCK said the dimension of the brutal attacks against the people in these areas meant escalating the war in the most violent manner.

It is obvious that neither the Kurdish people nor guerrilla forces would remain silent on these attacks, KCK said, and remarked that the Turkish state doubtlessly committed a war crime with the increased level of civilian killings in the wake of declarations of self-rule, in addition to the murder of hundreds of civilians during the past 13 years of AKP rule.

KCK said the mindset and policy of 'doing whatever is necessary, whether to women or children' is being put into practice in the most cruel way against the resistance of Kurdish people and peoples of Turkey.

Stating that Erdoğan escalated his aggression to avoid being put on trial, KCK said this cruelty, however, brought Erdoğan and AKP nearer to their end.

KCK remarked that the AKP would go down in history as one of the governments that committed the largest number of civilian killings and as a fascist government that jailed the largest number of democratic politicians ever.

'AKP WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HINDER THE DAWN OF PEOPLES'

KCK emphasized that the current process of Kurds and the peoples of Turkey was the nearest one to the liberation of Kurdistan and democratization of Turkey, adding; "The current process is of the pre-dawn darkness before liberation and democracy. The AKP government will not be able to hinder the dawn of freedom as the Kurdish people and peoples of Turkey will resist until the achievement of democracy in Turkey and liberation in Kurdistan. The first thing to do in this regard is to rise up in every city and town of Kurdistan and show that Cizre, Gever, Şırnak, Lice, Varto and Silvan are not alone. The peoples of Turkey should stand by the struggle of our people who are resisting to the curfews imposed by AKP and are not leaving their streets and neighborhoods to fascist forces."

Stressing that the AKP government was afraid of a joint struggle by Kurdish people and the peoples of Turkey, especially after witnessing the power and political consequence it created on June 7, KCK said this was the reason why the AKP government hindered the alliance of these two struggles through every means available and possible, press in the first place.

In this regard, KCK called on the democracy forces of Turkey to immediately take sides with the democratic autonomy initiative of the Kurdish people against the restrictions of the AKP government, upset AKP's games and take a major step for Turkey's democratization.

KCK pointed out that the Kurdish people should enhance their organization in the areas where democratic self-rule has been declared, continue resisting the attacks of AKP government, determinedly advance their self-rule initiative and carry the freedom struggle of the Kurdish people to conclusion.

Remarking that the Kurdish people were going through the strongest times of the struggle they have waged for 40 years, KCK added; "Ahead of us lies the honour and award of fulfilling our historic responsibility to liberate the Kurdish people and democratize Turkey, should this opportunity and chance be reclaimed well. Our resisting people will definitively triumph, while the Kurd-enemy AKP government will collapse in this dirty war it is waging."
