KCK (People’s Union of Kurdistan) Executive Council released a statement on the ‘Declaration of Democratic Autonomy in Democratic Nation Resolution’. The KCK made a call for the immediate implementation of the autonomy which will solve the Kurdish problem and democratize Turkey.
“In line with the struggle for freedom and democracy, the implementation of the Democratic Autonomy model as defined in the Democratic Nation Resolution has become inevitable in Turkey and the Kurdistan” said KCK, stating that the autonomy model, which is compatible with international law, needs to be put into practice as a basic solution perspective of the struggle for freedom.
The manifesto of the KCK Executive Council says; “Our freedom movement believes that a Democratic Turkey and a Free Kurdistan based on a Democratic Nation, Common Homeland and Democratic Republic is the most accurate way of solution. The Kurdish people have the right to apply the principles of the Democratic Autonomy under the circumstances of Kurdistan”.
KCK reminded that the Kurdish issue is not a matter of division, but a matter of ending the process of nonentity, existing as a people and once again reaching the status of strategic friends, partners and brothers.
KCK emphasized that the government has still not taken any concrete steps towards the protocols ‘Resolution of Democratic Solution Principles to the Basic Social Problems in Turkey’, ‘Resolution of Fair Peace Principles in State and Society Relations in Turkey’ and ‘Resolution of Action Plan for Fair Peace and for a Democratic Solution to the Kurdish Issue’, which have been presented by PKK Leader Abdullah Ocalan to the government’s committee.
Noting that the results of June 12 elections revealed a positive table in terms of a solution to the problem, KCK said; “The people of Kurdistan have approved the Democratic Republic and Democratic Autonomy Project presented by the Labor, Democracy and Freedom Block”.
