ISIS attack kills a policeman in Khanaqin

Snipers targeted a joint checkpoint of Germiyan Asayish Forces and Iraqi Federal Police.

In the Kurdish city of Khanaqin, one of the controversial regions in Iraq, ISIS mercenaries attacked a checkpoint of Iraqi Federal Police.

Speaking about the attack, Peshmerga commander Ahmad Mustafa said snipers targeted a joint checkpoint of Germiyan Asayish Forces and Iraqi Federal Police at around 9pm on Saturday.

Peshmerga Commander stated that one policeman got seriously wounded in the attack, and lost his life while being referred to hospital.

Asayish (public security) forces that rushed to the scene for assistance were also targeted by a mine attack near the village of Mehaz, but the explosion did not result in any injuries or casualties.
