International Coordination of Revolutionary Parties and Organizations, ICOR, has launched a campaign to build a hospital in the war-torn city of Kobanê in West Kurdistan, Rojava.
MLPD (Marxist–Leninist Party of Germany) Wuppertal, Solingen, Remscheid Branch Spokesperson Helmut Böhmler told ANF that they have mobilised for building a hospital in Kobanê on the call of ICOR, adding that “Our duty was to defend Kobanê against the barbarian ISIS gangs until it was liberated. Now, the gangs have been thrown out of Kobanê, suffering a big defeat in result of honourable resistance waged by the YPG/YPJ forces. And today’s duty is to rebuild that devastated town”.
Böhmler said they held a meeting with the Kobanê administration as ICOR and received the approval of the administration for building a hospital. Böhmler told they have sent 100 hospital personnel to Kobanê so far, adding that they will meet the expenses themselves and offer health services voluntarily.
Böhmler said they have so far collected 18 thousand euros, medical equipment amounting to 16 thousand euros and 4 thousand tons of construction material in the scope of the campaign they launched for the hospital, and called on everyone to join the solidarity festival they organise in Gelsenkirchen, Germany on 6 June. Böhmler recalled that there are large number of wounded and ill people in Kobanê and said people must join the campaign for those people to enable them receive a proper treatment.
