Military activity and mortar attacks by the Turkish army targeting Medya Defense Zones is continuing, reported People's Defense Forces Press and Communication Centre (HPG-BIM) in a written statement today.
HPG-BIM stated that Turkish military carried out a bombardment with howitzers and mortars against the Hill Ronahî and Mêrgê areas, which are located on the border to the Mamreş Hill and Girana military post under the control of the Turkish army in Şemdinli district of Hakkari, between 11 pm yesterday and 4 am today.
The statement noted that unmanned aerial vehicles of the Turkish army have also carried out reconnaissance flights over the Adılbeg area in Şemdinli between 4 and 5.30 am this morning.
HPG-BIM remarked that the border to Haftanin region in Medya Defense Zones also witnessed an activity by Turkish warplanes between 22:30–00:00 on February 20.
According to the statement, Turkish UAVs have intensified reconnaissance flights over the Haftanin border line between 00:30 - 02:30 yesterday and 00:00 - 04:00 earlier today. Mobility by Turkish warplanes also took place over the Zap region at 12:30 – 13:00 yesterday.
