HPG: Turkish army increasing operations to instigate clashes

People's Defense Forces Press Centre (HPG-BİM) reported in a written statement that the Turkish army continued its planned and deliberate operations to instigate clashes. The statement said that guerrillas failed these plans in Hakkari thanks to their disciplined and well-timed precautions, tactics and measures.

HPG-BİM stated that the guerrilla area Merge was targeted by an operation of Turkish troops from Hill Mamreş under Turkish military's control in Şemdinli district of Hakkari at 11.30 on April 12.

As guerrillas responded to attack with a warning fire on the basis of self-defense, clashes continued till 12.30, leaving 2 soldiers dead and 7 others wounded, HPG-BIM said, adding that guerrillas also seized many munitions.

According to the statement, unmanned aerial vehicles of the Turkish army performed reconnaissance flights over Xakurke area of Medya Defense Zones between 11-12 am yesterday, as well as over the areas of Şikefta Bîrîndara and Kure Jaro in Zap region between 10:30-12:30. An activity of Turkish warplanes also took place over Medya Defense Zones at 11:00 -11:30.

Again on 12 April, -HPG-BIM said-Turkish troops carried out a bombardment targeting the Martyr Ronahi and Mergê hills and surrounding areas from Hill Mamreş between 14:00 and 15:30.

Operation in Dersim

The statement said that the Turkish army carried out two other operations in the Tax village of Dersim on 30 March and in Zargoit woods on 10 April, both of which were revoked after remaining inconclusive. HPG-BİM also reported an intense military deployment in the districts of Dersim province.

Military deployment in Gabar

HPG-BİM remarked that Skorsky type helicopters and armored vehicles of the Turkish army have also made intense deployment in Botika and Kêlik guardposts in Çiyayê Mava area of Şırnak's Gabar region within the last one week.

The statement added that troops from both guard posts have also opened random fire with heavy weaponry for the last one week.
