The Press Center of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) announced that six guerrilla fighters were martyred in an airstrike by the Turkish army in the Avashin region of Medya Defense Zones in Southern Kurdistan (Northern Iraq) on December 28, 2020.

Regarding the fallen guerrillas, HPG informed that Botan, Dîdar, Felat, Nûjiyan, Şoreş and Tekoşîn performed important tasks in the guerrilla struggle with great dedication and courageously resisted the occupiers.

“They were involved in numerous effective actions from Şemdinli to Yüksekova and inflicted heavy losses on the Turkish army. With their sacrificial and courageous struggle against the occupation in the Avashin region, they have become "exemplary Apoist militants. Their attitude, lives and struggle make us proud and strengthen our resolve."

HPG expressed their condolences to the relatives and patriotic people of Kurdistan and vowed to continue the struggle of the fallen until victory.
