HPG reports Turkish airstrikes on Qandil and Xakurkê

HPG Press Office reported ongoing actions by guerrillas in Northern Kurdistan and airstrikes by the Turkish army on Medya Defense Zones in Southern Kurdistan.

HPG Press Office released a statement reporting ongoing actions by guerrillas in Northern Kurdistan and airstrikes by the Turkish army on Medya Defense Zones in Southern Kurdistan.

SİİRT

According to the HPG statement, guerrillas targeted the Xerxol outpost in Siirt's Pervari district on June 19th. A targeted action left one soldier dead, after which TRT Eruh outpost shelled Biraşkê area with howitzer and mortar fire.

BİTLİS

HPG reported that the invading Turkish troops accompanied by village guards carried out raids in the villages of Tanelan, Haret, Akulus, Kekala, Govan and Xalapul in Hizan district of Bitlis that were placed under curfew on June 12th.

After tracking the soldiers that subjected the local people here to pressure and violence, guerrillas hit one of these units near the Akulus village at 23:00 on June 15th. Effective strikes at close range left one specialized sergeant dead and 2 soldiers wounded.

The operation of the Turkish army in this territory was retreated inconclusively on June 19th.

MEDYA DEFENSE ZONES

Turkish jets bombed the Kalatuka area of Mount Qandil in guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones at between 22.15 and 22.40 on June 20th.

Turkish airstrikes also targeted the Ermuş hamlet in Xakurkê region of Medya Defense Zones at between 21.30 and 22.15 the same day.
