HPG (People's Defense Forces) Press Office released a statement providing information about continued actions by guerrillas against Turkish targets in North Kurdistan territory.

Accordingly, on May 20, at 14:10 guerrillas carried out an action with heavy weapons targeting soldiers on the move at the Zavite outpost in Hakkari's Çelê (Çukurca) district. In the action, the number of dead and wounded soldiers could not be clarified.

On May 19, at 09.30, guerrillas carried out a targeted action against the soldiers who were carrying out road control near the Angol outpost on the road between Amed and Bingöl. One soldier was killed in this action.

HPG stated that the Turkish army is pressuring people to evacuate the villages of Inegê, Kulê, Gır, Slekosa, Şêx Mirza, Mışka, Kal Hesen and Demirkapı in the area of Glidag in the Bazîd (Dogubeyazit) district of Ağrı. Also, the Turkish army prevents locals from grazing their animals in the highlands.

The statement recalled that on May 11, the Turkish army had launched operations in the Gırê Kaç and Çemê Karê teriritories in Siirt's Herekol region. There erupted intense clashes between soldiers and guerrilla forces during the operations. Many soldiers were killed and a Sikorsy-type helicopter was hit and damaged in the fighting. In these clashes, three guerrillas who hit the Turkish forces effectively were martyred in the heroic fight they gave until their last bullets.
