In a statement released yesterday, HPG said that cannon bombardment from the Oremar guard post in Hakkari’s Yüksekova district hit the Martyr Bager, Martyr Zerdeşt, Martyr Erdal, Martyr Gafur and Martyr Rahime areas of Medya Defense Zones between 14:00 – 15:00, 16:00 – 18:00 on July 25, 23:00 on July 25 and 00:00 on July 26, and 06:00 – 07:30 on July 27.

Guerrilla forces responded to Turkish army attacks with heavy weaponry. HPG said that cannon and tank bombardments from Ninova, Grana, Rubarok, Mamreş and Bêzok army guard posts also targeted the Mêrgê area and Tepê Xwedê and Martyr Ronahi hills, and guerrilla forces attacked the Mamreş guard post with heavy weaponry between 04:30 – 05:30 on July 26.

HPG reported that cannon bombardment from Şivan guard post hit the Partizan hill of Medya Defense Zones between 21:00 – 21:30 on July 25, and the attack caused a forest fire in the region. Cannon bombardment from Serbesta guard post in Şırnak targeted the Kuroşinê area of Medya Defense Zones between 18:00 – 18:30. Similarly, cannon and tank bombardments from Tepê Ortê, Êriş, Serê Sevê, Bilican and Şkêra army posts hit Sevê area, Kani Sarkê, Rubar hill, Hell’s hill and slope, Çiyayê Reş area, and the villages of Küçük Gare, Martyr Jiyan, Martyr Cahit, Martyr Newal, Erbiş, and Talısa village between 05:00 – 06:00 and 14:00 – 19:00 on July 25.

GUERILLAS SABOTAGE FOSSIL FUEL PLANT

HPG stated that guerrilla forces sabotaged the fossil fuel plant on Botan creek in Siirt’s Pervari district between 21:00 – 22:00 on July 23. Four heavy construction vehicles were burnt during this sabotage and the Turkish army began an operation and laid ambushes in response.

GUERILLAS INFORMED CIVILIANS

HPG noted that guerrillas intercepted the roads between Muş and Pasur as well as Muş and Bingöl around 21:30 on July 24 to inform civilians about recent developments.

GUERILLA ACTION: SEVEN POLICE INJURED

HPG said that guerrilla forces attacked police headquarters in Amed’s Bismil district on July 25 and injured seven police officers. Guerrillas also attacked officers guarding the district governor's building in Amed’s Farqin district.

8 SOLDIERS KILLED AND ONE VEHICLE DESTROYED IN LİCE

HPG announced that guerrillas sabotaged one Cobra and one other armored vehicle belonging to the Turkish army in between the Fis and Celkê villages of Amed’s Lice district around 23:00 on July 25, and destroyed the Cobra vehicle. Guerrillas attacked the other vehicle with rifles, killed eight soldiers, and wounded another eleven. HPG noted that the Turkish army responded to the attack with tank bombardments and reconnaissance flights near the site of the incident.

TURKISH ARMY AMBUSHES

HPG stated that Turkish soldiers accompanied by armored vehicles laid ambushes near the Zılpık and Mergêxalê villages of Erzurum’s Karayazı district on July 24, and near Deman and Kolan villages of Hakkari’s Şemdinli district between July 22 and 25.

FUTILE OPERATION IN ELBAK

HPG noted that the Turkish army carried out a futile operation in the Xelikê village of Van’s Elbak district and pressured village guards in Bitlis’ Tatvan district to attack and lay ambushes against the guerrillas.

ATTACK ON POLICE IN ŞEMZİNAN

HPG said that guerrillas attacked Turkish police officers in the Cumhuriyet neighborhood of Hakkari’s Şemzinan district, wounded two officers and critically injured one other.

TWO FROM A COUNTER GROUP KILLED

HPG ended its statement by announcing that guerrillas attacked a counter group in collaboration with ISIS, killed 2 members of theirs and injured one in between the Tekman district of Erzurum and Karlıova district of Bingöl on July 25.
