HPG: Actions by guerrillas continue

Guerrillas destroyed a base station near Girê Sor guard post in Narlı (Xaviştan) village of Van's Çatak district at 09:30 on August 27, and two others in Geliyê Sekê during the same hours.

A five-person counter group in guerrilla uniforms hit the emplacements of village guards in Kori village of Van's Başkale district at 00:00 on August 27. Following a clash between two sides, the counter group laid mines around the scene. The results of the clashes are not known.

Guerrillas closed the road between Şırnak's Beytüşşebap and Qıleban districts from 13:00 to 16:00 on August 27, during which they stopped 30 vehicles and spread propaganda about the process. A vehicle belonging to TEDAŞ (Turkish Electricity Distribution Corporation) was burnt down and destroyed.

ACTION AGAINST BOTAŞ GUARD POST

Guerrillas conducted an action against the Botaş guard post in Midyat district of Mardin from three sides at 18:20 at August 28. As the action was followed by clashes, guerrillas effectively hit the emplacements here, s a result of which one emplacement was destroyed, one soldier was killed and one other was wounded. While major fire erupted in the guard post as an oil tank caught fire during clashes, Turkish forces conducted reconnaissance flights over the scene for two hours after the action.

Guerrillas hit and destroyed a watch box in Cizre Garrison Command at 12:20 on August 27. Four soldiers were killed and many others were wounded as guerrillas also hit an emplacement, cafeteria and an gathering area of soldiers. Following the action, Turkish military closed the road leading to Nusaybin and opened random fire on civilians that gathered in the area.

Guerrillas destroyed a bridge in Yenişehir area of Şırnak's Silopi district at 06:00 on August 27. An armored vehicle that came to the scene in the wake of the action was also hit, which left the vehicle damaged and four special operation police wounded.

Guerrillas closed the road between Van's Çaldıran district and Ağrı's Bazid (Doğubayazıt) district near Kevırê Şami village between 14:10 and 20:00 on August 28. Two trucks and one lorry belonging to the state were burnt down here, while 40 vehicles were stopped and the people were informed about the process.

Guerrillas also closed the road between Bingöl's Çewlik and Karlıova districts and informed the people about the process from 19:30 to 22:00 on August 28.

TWO POLICE KILLED IN ANTEP

Two police were killed as guerrillas hit the Ocak police station in Antep city center at 22:30 on August 26.

The railway between Muş to Iran remains under the control of guerrillas since August 7.

The road between Muş and Pasur district of Amed is also controlled by guerrillas since August 27.

Guerrillas closed the road between Bingöl's Çewlik district and Amed from 19:30 to 22:00 on August 28, performed ID checks and spread propaganda to the people about the process.

15 Sikorsky helicopters airdropped troops on Karas (Kocaköy), Farqin (Silvan) and Zerga hill and deployed tanks between 19:00 and 22:00 on August 28. Local people started human shield action in the area against the increasing military activity.

Guerrillas closed the road between Bingöl and its Kanireş (Karlıova) district and spread propaganda to the people about the process between 20:30 and 22:00 on August 28.

SIKORSKY HELICOPTER DAMAGED IN ŞEX CUMA

One Sikorsky helicopter heading from Tatvan district of Bitlis to Şex Cuma guard post was damaged between 16:00 and 17:00 on August 28, which left the helicopter damaged and forced it to retreat.

Guerrillas hit an armored vehicle of special teams in Osmaniye city center at 22:30 on August 26, after which a clash erupted between soldiers and the guerrilla team.

Guerrillas closed the road in Kemah area of Erzincan and performed ID checks on August 27. During the action that lasted till 17:00 in the evening, guerrillas burnt one vehicle belonging to the Ministry of Forestry, one lorry and one mixer belonging to a private company, and seized two arms.

A clash broke out between a guerrilla unit and a group of soldiers in Merke area of Erzincan at 20:00 on Augusst 27. Two soldiers and one guerrilla by the name of Cihan Sinemili died in the clash. One other guerrilla was wounded and captured alive by soldiers.

ERZİNCAN-DERSİM AND OVACIK-DERSİM ROADS UNDER CONTROL OF GUERRILLAS

Erzincan-Dersim and Ovacık-Dersim roads remain under the control of guerrillas since August 17.

Guerrillas destroyed a base station in Yaylagülü area of Dersim's Ovacık district.

An action by guerrillas targeted the police station in Nazımiye district of Dersim at 18:00 on August 28. Guerrillas also hit the Government Office, Courthouse, police lodges, Nazımiye Brigade and Governor's Office. The action left many casualties the number of which however couldn't be clarified.

One soldier was wounded as guerrillas targeted a convoy of military vehicles in Şemdinli district center at 15:00 on August 28.

Guerrillas hold the control of the roads between Hakkari and Çukurca, Yüksekova's Geliyê Doski area and Oremar guard post, Şıtaza and Oremar guard post, Derya village and Bezelê guard post, as well as Mêrgezere area.

Guerrillas conducted an action against the guard post being constructed in Hill Zerga area in Amed's Lice, Karas (Kocaköy) and Farqin (Silvan) triangle area at 15:00 on August 27. Following the action, Cobra type helicopters intensely shelled the area, which left two guerrillas dead.
