HPG: 20 Turkish soldiers killed in Lelikan, southern Kurdistan

Guerrillas carried out a large scale action against Hill Lelikan where Turkish troops are stationed in southern Kurdistan, northern Kurdistan.

The Press and Communications Center of People’s Defense Forces (HPG-BIM) released a statement providing information about the recent actions carried out by guerrillas against the Turkish army in southern and northern Kurdistan.

According to the statement, guerrillas hit Turkish troops in Lelikan, Yüksekova, Çukurca, Pervari and Garê, which left 26 soldiers of the Turkish army dead.

Within the scope of the Martyr Pîroz and Martyr Agirî Revolutionary Campaign, guerrilla forces carried out actions against the invading Turkish army. The details of the actions within this scope and its results are as following;

“At 10.00 o'clock, our forces carried out an infiltration action against the occupying Turkish army positioned on the Lêlîkan hill in Sideka region within the territory of Southern Kurdistan from four arms. In the action, six enemy positions and one shelter was destroyed. 19 enemy soldiers were identified killed. In the action, our comrade Şahan Tolhildan reached martyrdom after fighting against the enemy heroically and sacrificially.”

HPG statement continued as follows;

“At 14.30, our forces carried out an action targeting the enemy forces on the Lêlîkan hill. One enemy soldier was killed in the action.

At 19.30, our forces carried out another action against the enemy soldiers on the Evliya hill in Hakkari's Gever (Yüksekova) district. Four soldiers were killed in this action where enemy positions and shelters were struck effectively.

At 5:30, our forces carried out an action against the occupying Turkish army soldiers deployed on Kuroşino hill in Hakkari's Çelê (Çukurca) district. The number of dead and wounded soldiers here could not be determined.

Within the scope of the Martyr Delal Amed and Besta Martyrs Revolutionary Campaign, on May 29 at 15:00, our forces carried out a series of assassination actions targeting Osyan outpost in Siirt's Pervari district. Two soldiers were killed in these actions.

On May 28, at noon, our forces carried out an action targeting an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of the occupying Turkish army in the Garê region of the Medya Defence Zones. The UAVs were damaged and forced to withdraw from the area.”
