HPG (People's Defense Forces) Press Office has released a statement detailing the ongoing attacks by Turkish army and actions by guerrillas in response.

Guerrillas carried out an action against the Turkish troops positioned in the area around Martyr Kendal near the border to Hefatanin region of Medya Defence Zones at between 08.30 - 12.00 on August 30. One tank was hit in the action, one soldier was killed and three others were wounded in the action.

At between 15.00 - 17.30 the same day, guerrillas hit soldiers stationed around Martyr Kendal area, leaving the emplacements here and a vehicle damaged, while the number of the casualties could not be verified.

In another action with heavy weaponry, guerrillas targeted the Turkish troops involved in the construction of a new tower at Grana military post at Avashin border at 16:00 on August 30. While the casualties of the Turkish army could not be clarified, guerrillas further hit the vehicles that arrived the scene to remove the casualties, forcing the vehicles to withdraw. The Turkish army could remove the casualties from the scene till 06:00 on August 31

Two base stations of two GSM operators in Gelîyê Xumarok area of Hakkari's Şemzinan (Şemdinli) district were destroyed in a sabotage action by guerrillas at 21:30 on August 30.

Guerrillas hold the control of the roads between Hakkari-Çukurca; Geliyê Doski area of Yüksekova and Oremar military post; Mêrgezere area and Şıtaza and Oremar military posts and Derya village of Şemdinli and Bezelê military post.

A bridge in Esendere, Çılık and Zerilê triangle in Hakkari's Yüksekova district was completely destroyed in a sabotage action by guerrillas at 23:30 on August 30.

In an action with heavy weaponry, guerrillas targeted the Eriş military post at Zap border at between 09.00 - 09.30 on August 30, hitting the emplacements and armored vehicles in the post. Two emplacements were destroyed and 5 armored vehicles were damaged in the action while the number of the casualties left by the action could not be clarified.

Guerrillas hit the military post in Şırnak’s Silopi town with heavy weaponry at 06:00 on August 31. The number of the casualties could not be ascertained.

ACTION AGAINST BASE STATIONS

Guerrillas destroyed two base stations of two GSM operators in Yeni and Kale neighborhoods in Van's Başkale district at 19:00 on August 29, and two others near Çıle village of Van's Saray district at 22:00 the same day.

An assassination attack was carried out by a guerrilla unit against Meşkan (Çamdalı) Hill in Yüksekova district of Hakkari at 05.45 on August 30. Additionally, 5 emplacements were hit by heavy weaponry, which left one soldier dead and three others wounded. Drones and cobra type helicopters hit the surroundings of the hill afterwards, while the foothills were also shelled with mortars and howitzers. The details of the action will be announced later on.

A guerrilla unit hit a Cobra type armoured vehicle in Turgut Özal neighborhood in Hezex (İdil) district of Şırnak on August 27, leaving the vehicle damaged while the number of the casualties could not be clarified.

EIGHT SOLDIERS KILLED IN GABAR

Martyr Harun Assassination team carried out actions against the Turkish troops on Hill Şerefi in Gabar area of Şırnak at 14:00 on August 30. Two soldiers were killed in the action after which Turkish troops bombarded the area with howitzer and mortar fire.

In memory of two guerrillas martyred in Besta, guerrillas carried out an action against Hill Gundıkê Şêx in Gabar area at 13:30 on August 30, in which they hit the soldiers positioned on the hill and destroyed two towers. While three soldiers were verified killed, Turkish forces removed the casualties from the scene with helicopters and bombed the area with howitzer and mortar fire.

COUNTER ACTIVITIES IN NUSAYBİN

A counter group introducing themselves as the youth group of people’s initiative in Nusaybin district of Mardin have been involved in some activities in the name of guerrillas for the last 15 days.

A cement factory owned by an AKP member, which is located on the road between Siirt’s Pervari and Bêzar areas, was burned to the ground by a guerrilla unit at 21:00 on August 30.

Another guerrilla unit hit a police station in Çermik district of Amed at 15:00 on August 26, leaving 2 policemen seriously wounded. Turkish forces supported by village guards launched an operation in Kılındere and Kavar villages following the action.

TWO POLICE KILLED IN AMED

A guerrilla unit hit and damaged an armored vehicle in Bağlar district of Amed on August 27. In another action in Kayapınar district of Amed on August 30, guerrillas killed two police.

Four police were wounded in a sabotage action by guerrillas who targeted an armored vehicle in Bağlar district of Amed at 23:00 on August 26.

Turkish troops dispatched reinforcements to Lice-Hani-Karas triangle in Amed between 07:00-09:00 on August 3. Additionally, the operation launched by the Turkish army in the area continues.

Troops at the military post in Malabadi village of Amed's Farqin district have opened random fire on the surrounding areas for the last 4 days.

The road between Pasur(Kulp) and Farqin(Silvan) district of Amed is under control of guerrillas for a long while. Guerrillas performed ID check on the people in 300 vehicles they stopped here between 13:00 and 19:00 on August 30.

Guerrillas carried out a sabotage action against a military train on move from Tatvan district of Bitlis to Muş as it passed by Korkut district of Muş at 22:00 on August 29. The bridge and 5 wagons of the train were left completely destroyed. Casualties left by the action are higher than was reported by Turkish media as 5 soldiers were wounded. The railway was closed after the action.

SEVEN SOLDIERS KILLED IN KARS

HPG and YJA STAR guerrillas carried out and action against Gendarme and police stations in Kars at 21:30 on August 30. While guerrillas on one side hit and destroyed an emplacement and a sentry box, they on the other side hit the soldiers positioned in front of the station. At least 7 soldiers were killed and one other was left wounded in the action which was carried out by Martyr Hejar Sarıkamış and Martyr Çavreş Teams in memory of the guerrillas fallen in Sarıkamış.

An armored vehicle in front of the Gendarme station was also hit and damaged, but the number of the casualties could not be clarified.

A base station in Zorova village of Ağrı's Bazid district was destroyed in a sabotage action by guerrillas at 22:55 on Agust 30.

Guerrillas infiltrated into Harra military post in Erciş district of Van on August 30, and effectively hit two sentry boxes. While the casualties of the Turkish army could not be verified, guerrillas retreated to their positions in the wake of the fire opened on them from another sentry box.

ROADS IN DERSİM HELD BY GUERRILLAS

The roads between Dersim - Ovacık and Dersim - Erzincan are under THE control of guerrillas since August 17.

Helicopters of the Turkish army bombed the foothills of Hill Muservan and Zelê between Nazimiye and Dersim at 03:00 on August 30.

Turkish troops are conducting surveillance activities in Geliyê Munzur area over the last several days, especially in Peter, Gafat and Veng areas.

The roads leading to Danaboran and Göztepe in Mazgirt district of Dersim were taken under control by guerrillas at 17:30 on August 29. A car belonging to AKP Mazgirt branch chair was burnt during the road checks conducted by guerrillas.

AERIAL ACTIVITIES BY TURKISH ARMY CONTINUE

HPG went on reporting the aerial activities and bombardments carried out by the Turkish army on guerrilla held areas. Accordingly, Turkish unmanned aerial vehicles carried out reconnaissance flights over Gare area of Medya Defense Zones at between 00.00 - 01.30 on August 31; and over Zap region at between 07.30 - 10.00 on August 30 and at between 19:30 on August 30 and 05:30 on August 31.

Moreover, an activity of Turkish jets took place over Zap region between 06.00 - 07.00 on August 31.

BOMBARDMENT AGAINST GUERRILLA AREAS

Regarding the bombardments launched on Medya Defense Zones from Turkish military posts at the border, HPG provided the following details;

Troops at Eriş military post at Zap region's border shelled Hill Xeregol, Canmeda, Zêrê village, Mergeşinê, Şelale and Dola Şifreza areas at between 05.30 - 09.30 and 15.30 - 16.30 on August 30.

Troops at Serê Sevê and Hill Ortê military posts shelled Hill Çarçerê and Hill Sor at between 13.00 -13.30 on August 30.

Troops at Bilican Regiment shelled its surroundings at between 05.30 - 06.30 on August 31

Troops at Şkêr military post shelled Latê Kewa area at between 06.00 - 06.30 on August 31.

Troops at Şıvan and çete Hill military posts at Heftanin border shelled Hill Partizan and Qesroke areas at between 18.00-19.00 on August 30.
