HPG (People's Defense Forces) Press Office has released a statement detailing yesterday's action against special operation police in Bağlar district of Amed.
The statement by HPG said the action was conducted by Martyr Şevger Team of Revenge and in the person of Martyr Çiyager and Martyr Mordem in memory of the combatants martyred in Sur.
HPG said the sabotage action by guerrillas targeted a convoy of special operation police at 17:00 on March 31 in response to the ongoing attacks of the Turkish military in Kurdistan. Accordingly, 17 members of special operation police were killed and 13 others were wounded as a result of the guerrilla action which left a bus completely destroyed.
In addition, an armored vehicle was largely destroyed but the casualties left in it couldn't be verified.
HPG said Turkish media reports that 7 policemen died here aimed to hide the truth.
