HPC and HPC-Jin call on people to organize themselves
"We call on all our people to organize themselves on the basis of the Revolutionary People's War and strengthen their defense," the HPC and HPC-Jin said.
"We call on all our people to organize themselves on the basis of the Revolutionary People's War and strengthen their defense," the HPC and HPC-Jin said.
The General Commands of HPC and HPC-Jin held a press conference at the April 4 Park in Hesekê to address the attacks carried out by the Turkish state and its allied groups, as well as the current situation in Syria. The statements were read in Kurdish and Arabic by HPC member Viyan Hesen and one of the HPC Cizre Canton administrators, Hemîd Miêş.
The statement noted that, after the fall of the Baath regime, the Turkish state took advantage of the resulting political climate and intensified its attacks on the territories of Northern and Eastern Syria. Recalling that the population in Shehba and Manbij had been displaced and subjected to great atrocities under the occupation, the declaration also spoke about the "interim administration" in Damascus, and said: "The crisis in Syria continues. The military force stationed in Damascus, which claims it is a new administration, denies women’s freedom and collaborates with the Turkish state. We cannot entrust our defense and security to this force. In the Autonomous Administration regions, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) make enormous sacrifices to protect us. Our defense power is the SDF, which includes Kurdish, Arab, Armenian, Turkmen, Syriac, and Assyrian youth in their ranks."
The statement added: "While our fighters actively fulfill their duty of defense, we in the HPC will not remain silent or leave them alone."
The statement continued: "We will stand with our brothers and sisters of the SDF and the Women’s Protection Units (YPJ) who are on the front lines of resistance. On this basis, we will defend our homeland, our villages, our neighborhoods, and our cities. Sos far, dozens of HPC and HPC-Jin members have gone to the front lines and are fighting the Turkish occupation alongside the SDF and the YPJ. The stance shown by HPC and HPC-Jin members means that we are all SDF, and we are all the YPG and the YPJ."
The statement underlined that the thirteen-year crisis in Syria has seen the Autonomous Administration maintaining free space through its own self-defense, a process that demonstrates the ever-increasing importance of self-defense. The Turkish state, the announcement said, seeks to expand its occupation and annexation already carried out in Efrîn, Bab, Girê Spî, Serêkaniyê, and other regions across all of Syria.
"We will resist to the end!"
The statement said: "These are our lands. We did not come here from somewhere else. The occupiers are the Turkish state and its mercenary allies. Let everyone know that we will not remain silent if anyone lays claim to our homeland, and we will resist until the very end."
The HPC and HPC-Jin called "on all our people to organize on the basis of the Revolutionary People’s War and to strengthen their defense. The sacrifices we make are for the security of our country and to build a free future for our people. Therefore, we are not afraid of making sacrifices!"
