Turkish army has carried out howitzer and mortar attacks on some areas in Şırnak province of North Kurdistan.

People's Defence Forces (HPG) Press and Communication Centre reported in a written statement that the Turkish military increasingly continued military activities in Kurdistan.

The statement said that Turkish troops deployed at the military post on Gundikê Melê Hill in Şırnak carried out a bombardment with heavy weaponry, targeting the Çiyayê Fila, Martyr Diyar and Herbis areas at 08:00- 15:00 yesterday.

HPG-BIM stated that troops mainly made up of hired soldiers are being dispatched from Mazıdağ district of Mardin to the military post in Qesrik village on April 9.
