HDP MP Nuran Imir: "Take the pandemic seriously!"

HDP MP Nuran Imir appeals to the people of Şırnak to take the pandemic seriously and not to abandon the recommended protective measures under any circumstances.

According to Nuran Imir, Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) deputy for Şırnak, there is no transparency in case figures for the corona pandemic per province, and it is not transparent how state aid is distributed.

The HDP politician told ANF that no coronavirus tests are being conducted in any hospital in the province of Şırnak and it is necessary to wait for the results from Amed (Diyarbakir). She pointed out the problem that the Turkish Ministry of Health does not provide any information on the number of cases per province: "According to the latest information from Şırnak, there are 56 cases of infection and almost 1,200 people are in quarantine. Because the government is not making a statement, people think that Şırnak is not affected by the pandemic and are very relaxed. This will encourage the spread of the virus."

The government is using the pandemic for its political profit, Nuran Imir said and continued: "All institutions, organisations, parties and municipalities that are not under its control are prevented from distributing aid. Even this solidarity, which is a human reflex, is under the monopoly of the government. Both the distribution of aid and the number of cases are not transparent. It is not known who gets what aid, when, under what conditions."

The MP calls on the people of her constituency to take the pandemic seriously and not to abandon the recommended protective measures under any circumstances.
