Hashd al-Shaabi captures Qahtaniyah town from ISIS

Hashd al-Shaabi forces captured the Qahtaniyah town to the north of Baaj town from ISIS.

Popular Mobilization Units Hashd al-Shaabi, which continues its operation in South Shengal, announced that taking control of the Qahtaniyah town to the north of Baaj town.

Hashd al-Shaabi had recently announced capturing Shengal’s Kocho village and handing it over to the Êzidîs that left the KDP and joined its ranks.

Several people from Kocho village, where ISIS had massacred hundreds during the August 3 attack, joined the KDP peshmergas after the ISIS aggression.

However, the KDP peshmergas from Kocho village joined Hashd al-Shaabi on May 17 after criticizing the KDP for stalling them and not doing anything to liberate the villages still under ISIS occupation.
