Speaking to ANF, YJA Star guerrilla Hebûn Hêvî and HPG guerrilla Herekol Şiyar stated that they welcomed Newroz in the spirit of the Garê victory.

Commemorating the martyrs, the guerrillas wished happy Newroz to Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, political prisoners resisting in Turkey’s prisons, patriotic Kurdish people and guerrillas.

'NEWROZ SPIRIT RESURRECTED'

Hêvî stated that just like Kawa the Blacksmith, who rebelled and resisted Dehak, Mazlum Doğan also sacrificed himself by demonstrating great resistance against the Turkish state. Hêvî stated that this Newroz spirit of resistance has recently been resurrected against the invaders in the person of Şoreş, who was martyred in Garê.

"The Turkish state and occupiers were not allowed to invade our lands. The spirit of comrades Şoreş and Rojhat developed this resistance. We celebrate the Newroz with the resistance of these friends."

Hêvî stressed that they will pursue the path of the Kurdish People's Leader until their last breath. She made it clear that they will resist like Kawa, Mazlum, Şoreş and live in the spirit of Newroz at any moment.

"We will sacrifice ourselves against the Turkish state occupation, we will not make them enjoy occupying our lands. We will revive the spirit of resistance in ourselves, we will build a new life."

Hêvî called on the Kurdish youth to join the guerrilla.

'RESISTANCE UNTIL VICTORY!'

HPG guerrilla Herekol Şiyar stressed that they will do their best to realize their promise for victory.

“We are committed to the promise we made to our people. The message of Mazlum Doğan in 1982 Newroz became reality in Garê today and this Newroz will be the fire of freedom, democracy and unity of peoples. We, HPG guerrillas, promise to resist until victory,” Şiyar added.
