Guerrillas inflict a blow on the Turkish army in Botan

HPG reported that guerrillas have inflicted a blow on the Turkish troops participating in an operation in Gabar region, North Kurdistan.

HPG (People's Defense Forces) released a statement detailing the actions by guerrillas and clashes with Turkish troops in North Kurdistan territory.

HILL YEKMAL OUTPOST HIT

According to the statement, guerrillas carried out an action targeting the Hill Yekmal outpost in Şırnak's Qıleban (Uludere) district at 11:00 on April 9. Guerrillas hit the emplacements, containers and armored vehicles in the outpost with RPG-7 rocket launchers at close range. The number of soldiers killed or wounded here couldn't be clarified.

BLOW ON TURKISH SOLDIERS IN GABAR

HPG reported that Turkish army started an air-supported operation in Kela Beremirê, Kela Aşılmê, Hill Martyr Sarya and Hill Ortê areas in Gabar region of Botan territory at 05:00 on April 4. While clashes erupted after helicopters airdropped soldiers on Martyr Sarya hillsides at 06:00, the number of dead or wounded soldiers couldn't be clarified.

3 SOLDIERS KILLED IN STRIKE BY YJA-STAR GUERRILLAS

During the same day, YJA-Star (Free Women's Troops) guerrillas carried out a sabotage action targeting the soldiers joining the operation in Kela Beremirê hamlet, which left 3 soldiers dead and 5 others wounded. Following the action, the scene was shelled at random by Cobra helicopters.

At 15:30 on April 5, YJA-Star guerrillas hit a unit of soldiers partaking in the operation in Kela Asilmê area. The number of soldiers killed or wounded here couldn't be clarified.

At 16:00 the same day, guerrillas hit the soldiers in the hamlet of Beremirê, leaving 1 soldier dead.

3 more soldiers were killed as result of targeted actions during the same hours.

At 09:30 on April 6, Turkish warplanes shelled the Gabar area. Contact has been lost with two guerrillas following clashes that erupted during the operation.

SOLDIERS HIT IN SİLOPİ

HPG statement continued, giving the following details regarding the Turkish military activity and guerrilla actions in the countryside of Şırnak's Silopi district;

The Turkish army started an operation in Gırê Çolya area of Silopi on April 7. The operation was later expanded with the deployment of more soldiers on several hills in the surrounding areas.

At 12:00 on April 7, a group of guerrillas infiltrated into the position of soldiers situated on a hill near Gırê Çolya village. The effective strikes of guerrillas resulted in clashes, while the number of dead or wounded soldiers left here couldn't be clarified.

At 17:00 the same day, guerrillas carried out two targeted actions against soldiers on Gırê Yadê hill. Results of this action couldn't be clarified either.
