Guerrillas hit Turkish troops in Zagros and Doğubeyazıt

Guerrillas continue inflicting blows on the Turkish army in Kurdistan territory.

The Press Office of People’s Defense Forces (HPG) released a statement on the latest actions carried out by guerrillas against the Turkish army in Kurdistan territory.

According to the statement, guerrillas struck an emplacement and shelter in Zagros, and hit a military unit on move in Doğubeyazıt.

As part of the Martyr Bager and Martyr Ronya Revolutionary Campaign, guerrillas from Free Women’s Troops (YJA Star) struck the Turkish soldiers stationed on Hill Çarçel in the Zagros region at 12:30 on September 6. Effective strikes at close range left an emplacement and one shelter completely destroyed, together with the soldiers deployed in them. The number of casualties, however, couldn’t be determined by the guerrillas.

HPG stated that the Turkish army has extended the operation it launched in the areas of Demirkapı, Gilîdağ and Çomkê in Doğubeyazıt district of Ağrı. At 6 a.m. on August 27, guerrillas hit the Turkish soldiers who were moving in the operation zone. It couldn’t be determined how many soldiers were killed or wounded in the sabotage action.

On the other hand, HPG reported that Turkish attack helicopters shelled the area of Kinyaniş in Zap region of Medya Defense Zones in Southern Kurdistan (Northern Iraq) at September 5 night.

The statement added that the bombardments did not result in any losses in guerrilla ranks.
