Guerrillas hit Turkish troops in Heftanin and Cudi

Guerrilla forces continue inflicting blows on the occupant Turkish army in Kurdistan territory.

The Press Office of People’s Defense Forces (HPG) released a statement about the latest actions by guerrillas and attacks by the Turkish army in Kurdistan territory.

According to the statement, the Turkish army launched an operation in the areas of Navsera Cudi and Deriyê Wara in the region of Mount Cudi in Şırnak countryside, Northern Kurdistan on August 29. As part of the Martyr Medya Mawa and Martyr Rizgar Gever Revenge Campaign, guerrillas struck the Turkish forces in the area on August 30. While the target was struck at close range, the number of soldiers killed or wounded here couldn’t be clarified.

The Turkish army retrieved the casualties from the scene with Sikorsky helicopters in the evening hours and bombarded the area at random, causing a fire that still continues to rage.

At 21:40 on August 31, one of the Turkish soldiers stationed on Hill Katosule in Bektorya area of Heftanin, Southern Kurdistan was assassinated.

On the same day, guerrillas hit an emplacement of the Turkish forces on the hill. While the position was destroyed completely, the number of casualties left here couldn’t be clarified.

On the other hand, HPG reported continued air raids by the Turkish army on guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in Southern Kurdistan, Northern Iraq.

Accordingly, Turkish jets shelled the areas of Hill Sor and Werxele in Avashin region, and the areas of Karker and Saca in Zap region on August 31.

The Turkish army also bombed the areas of Dola Reşme and Martyr Delila in Zap region with howitzer and mortar fire at 09:30 on August 31. The wildfires started by these bombardments continue to rage.
