Guerrillas hit Turkish military convoy on Çukurca-Hakkari road

Guerrillas hit a Turkish military convoy heading from Çukurca to Hakkari. According to reports, two armored vehicles in the convoy were destroyed.

A Turkish military convoy was ambushed by guerrillas while on its way from Çukurca to Hakkari at 23:00 last night. Guerrillas hit the convoy with heavy weaponry at close range, which left two armored vehicles destroyed.

According to local sources, more that 15 Turkish soldiers were killed or wounded as result of the action, after which the Turkish army launched a bombardment in the area.

On the other hand, guerrillas hit the Turkish soldiers stationed on Hill Şikere Spi in Hakkari’s Şemdinli district yesterday noon. Ensuing clashes between guerrillas and Turkish soldiers that launched an operation afterwards, continued into the evening. Local sources reported that casualties of the Turkish army were retrieved from the area later on.
