Guerrillas destroy construction equipment in Heftanin

According to HPG, a Turkish soldier was killed in the Heftanin region of southern Kurdistan during an action against the construction of a military road. In the Medya Defense Zones, the Turkish army launched air and ground attacks.

The Press Office of People’s Defense Forces (HPG) announced the details of an action carried out by guerrillas against Turkish troops in Heftanin region of Southern Kurdistan, Northern Iraq.

According to the HPG statement, a bulldozer taking part in the construction of a military road in the Xantur region was targeted and effectively put under fire by guerrillas at 11:10 on September 3rd. While the construction equipment was destroyed, the driver was killed.

Following the action, the Turkish army arbitrarily shelled the region with artillery fire. As a result, massive material damage was caused to the nearby cultivation areas of the civilian population and some of the inhabitants had to leave their residential areas as a result.

Air attacks in Southern Kurdistan

Regarding the air and ground attacks on other places in the Medya Defense Zones, the HPG said: "On September 2, between 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. the Turkish army bombed the area of Shuke in Avashin region with howitzers and mortars. The aggression caused a wildfire in the forests that still continues.

At 17:10 on September 3, the Saca area in in Zap region was attacked by Turkish fighter jets. Air strikes followed from 17.30 to 18.00 on the area of Goshine near Xakurke region. Between 23:30 and midnight, the Kolit area was simultaneously bombed by attack helicopters and ground troops.
