Following the execution of 5 political Kurdish prisoners on May 9th, in Iran, the guerrillas of HRK (East Kurdistan Forces) have intensified their reaction against the Iranian armed forces. At the same time with a statement released by the Commander centre, HRK appealed to young Kurdish people and their families to refuse going to serve in the Iranian army. The statement says. "We, as East Kurdistan Forces, do not want that our Kurdish children are sacrificed by the Iranian regime. It is for this reason, to fight the war that the Iranian regime is fighting against the Kurds that we ask Kurdish children and their families not to join the army".

According to a separate report issued by PJAK (Free Life Party of Kurdistan), on 18 May in Merivan, in the are of Soma, 5 Iranian Revolutionary Guardians have died as a result of clashes with the Kurdish guerrillas. The latest deaths bring the number of dead Iranian Guards to ten.
