HPG fighter Bawer Rubar and YJA Star guerrilla Amargî Isyan Raqqa, who fought in the war tunnels in the footsteps of Martyr Beritan, spoke to the ANF about the impact of her action on the PKK movement.

HPG guerrilla Bawer Rubar: "Heval Beritan’s stance against traitors is very important. The KDP’s plans were thwarted by the response given by comrade Beritan. The resistance she displayed spread everywhere and continues today despite all the difficult conditions. In particular, the resistance our comrades are currently carrying out in Zap, Metina, Xakûrkê and Bakûrê Kurdistan follows the Beritan line.

The enemy is using all kinds of weapons against our comrades, and is attacking them with chemical weapons. This shows how desperate the enemy is. Our comrades’ actions have paralyzed the enemy. Despite all the support from the KDP, the Turkish state cannot achieve success against the guerrillas. The Turkish state is waging war only through sophisticated technology. Reconnaissance planes are flying over the mountains 24 hours a day, and every area is being bombed. They are killing our people and imposing treason and espionage on them. Despite all the savage attacks carried out by the enemy, we prevail in the mountains of Kurdistan. The enemy cannot fight against the guerrillas and is suffering heavy blows. They are waging a special war against the people every day to destroy the people's trust and faith in the PKK. But the enemy and his collaborators will never achieve their goal."

'We have full faith in our leadership'

YJA Star Arab guerrilla Amargî Isyan Raqqa: "I respectfully commemorate all our martyrs of the revolution in the person of Heval Beritan. We will definitely fulfill the promise we made to them. Comrade Beritan’s legacy of resistance left to us impressed me greatly. With the stance she displayed at that time, she clearly demonstrated how we should respond to the enemy.

This resistance has continued since then. As an Arab woman, my going to the mountains and fighting there strengthens our struggle even more. We must follow the path of martyr Beritan and strengthen our will. We will do whatever is necessary for our country. As YJA Star forces, we are aware of how heavy our duties and responsibilities are. The fact that the enemy attacked our party so brutally shows how difficult it is. They no longer know what to do, what kind of weapon to develop. Yet, despite using chemical weapons, they could not break our resistance, and now they are trying to do new things.

Our comrades have stopped the enemy with the actions they carried out both in the war tunnels and on the ground. We have full faith in our leadership and our history. The experiences we have learned from history have formed the basis of our struggle and sacrifice. We reiterate our promise once again that we will walk on the line of resistance created by martyrs Beritan and Zilan."
