Guerilla actions in Heftanin, Xakurke and Dersim

Three soldiers have been killed in actions by guerrillas aganst the Turkish army in Heftanin, Xakurke and Dersim.

The Press Centre of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) has released a statement detailing the latest guerrilla actions in Southern and Northern Kurdistan and the recent air raids of the Turkish army.

Heftanin

As part of the resistance offensive against the Turkish army's invasion of the guerrilla region of Heftanin in Southern Kurdistan, which has been going on for a month, a soldier was shot dead by a YJA Star sniper. The action took place on 15 July at 15.50 on the Hill of Martyrs (Girê Şehîdan).

Xakurke

This morning at four o'clock the guerrillas targeted a Turkish military camp on Hill Şehîd Dewrêş in the guerrilla-held region of Xakurke in Southern Kurdistan. According to HPG, the enemy positions and shelters were "effectively hit", while the number of killed or injured soldiers couldn’t be clarified.

Dersim

The HPG statement said: "The Turkish occupying army is building a new military station near the village of Çakmaklı in Hozat district of Dersim province. An YJA-Star unit carried out an action against soldiers securing this military station on 14 July at eight o'clock. The enemy unit was effectively hit, killing two soldiers and injuring two others. Our unit subsequently returned to its base area unharmed."

Air raids on Southern Kurdistan

Concerning the recent air raids of the Turkish army on Southern Kurdistan, the HPG press office informed that the areas of Xantur and Bektorya in Heftanin were bombed on 14 July and the Hill Amêdiyê in Amadiya in Duhok Governorate on 15 July.
