YPG Press Centre has provided information about the ongoing fighting in Kobanê and Cizîrê cantons of West Kurdistan, Rojava.

Recalling that Kobanê resistance to the occupation attempt of ISIS gangs continued for the 224th day, The statement said clashes have taken place between YPG/YPJ (People's/Women's Defense Units) and ISIS groups in and around the village of Sinaa to the south of Kobanê. The number of casualties left by the fighting, which continued uninterruptedly since yesterday afternoon till earlier today, couldn't be verified, YPG said, adding that small-scale clashes continue in this area.

One fighter of the YPG/YPJ has fallen fighting in the mentioned clashes, it added.

The statement said that gang groups launched an attack on the villag of Dikanê at the same front early this morning, but were forced to flee the battle field in the face of the immediate and strong response by Defense Units.

YPG Press Centre said fighting between YPG/YPJ and ISIS is also going on on the western border line of the Cizîrê Canton.

According to the statement, YPG/YPJ fighter carried out an attack against the gang groups between the villages of Xebiş köyü and Menacir in Til Temir last night. While a military vehicle of the gangs was destroyed with militants inside, the exact number of casualties couldn't be verified.

YPG added that Defense Units were performing surveillance works in the area of quarries 17 km west of Til Temir after the ending of the clashes here, and have seized a large quantity of ammunition.
