Necdet Alıcı, special operations police who was Erdoğan’s bodyguard when he was the prime minister, and the other special operations police who died alongside him had been taken to Amed from other cities for the operation.
Several special operations police were killed in yesterday’s bombed action on the shuttle bus carrying special operations police in Amed’s Bağlar district. Official state reports say 7 policemen died, but local sources say that there around 20 policemen have died. Several special operations policemen were injured in the actions on two police vehicles.
Sources say the special operations police who died had been brought to Amed for police operations. One of them, Necdet Alıcı, is said to have been Tayyip Erdoğan’s bodyguard when he was the prime minister.
