DTK co-chair says KDP should return from its mistake

Democratic Society Congress co-chair Leyla Güven reacted to the KDP, saying;"We see that a Kurdish fratricide may break out at the Turkish government’s request.”

Kurdish politicians, including Democratic Society Congress (DTK) co-chairs Leyla Güven and Berdan Öztürk and HDP Şırnak Deputy Nuran İmir visited Şırnak province as part of the recently launched "Let's establish union, break the isolation, ensure freedom" campaign. The delegation went to Uludere district and attended the opening of the HDP District Organization.

'WE MUST BE ORGANIZED EVERYWHERE'

Güven said, “We have once again seen that this cause has achieved success. The warm welcome of the mothers has shown us this once again.”

“We need to be organized wherever we are. Currently the main problem is the Kurdish problem in Turkey. As the DTK delegation, we were in Cizre yesterday. Hundreds of our friends were burned to death in the basements of Cizre. 2 or 3 children of each family we visited had been massacred. Their hearts are wounded, but their heads are high. These families sacrificed their beloved ones and their homes, but they did not give up their demands for freedom for a moment. We are servants of our people,” Güven said.

Stressing that the Kurds are under severe persecution currently, Güven noted that the number of soldiers in Uludere is higher than the number of local people.

Güven further remarked the following:

“We have risen up against this very occupation. Dozens of Kurdish politicians are now in prison. Many of our friends left the country out of necessity. The state's persecution of the Kurds is increasing day by day. But now they also know that a decision cannot be made in the Middle East without the Kurds. Nobody can take a step without Kurds anymore; they cannot do anything without the Kurds. The Kurds have paid a price, but they have also made achievements as a result of these costs.”

'THE KDP MUST REDRESS'

Saying "Uludere is the border of Southern Kurdistan," Güven reacted to the KDP, which has caused a conflict among Kurdish forces recently.

Güven said, “Southern Kurdistan is our land, too. But unfortunately, they are trying to bring Kurdish forces against each other in the South. We want the KDP to return from this mistake. Mr. Masoud Barzani said, ‘We do not want a fratricide.’ Now we see that a Kurdish fratricide may break out at the Turkish government’s request. We appeal to Kurdish forces from Uludere: return from this mistake which harms the Kurdish people. We do not want an internal conflict ever. We must fight against our enemies. Let Kurdish politicians and forces come together and put an end to this conflict."

ISOLATION AND PRISON RESISTANCE

Güven also remarked over the isolation imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan: "The solitary confinement on Mr. Abdullah Öcalan is not executed by Turkey alone. Turkey is guarding the international forces. This isolation is not carried out independently from America, Russia and France. Because of this, we need to be voice and breath of the prisons. We went through torture, arrests and massacres, but never gave up. We have been fighting for 40 years. We must further grow our resistance.”

After the opening of the party building, the delegation visited the district tradesmen and their families. The delegation will continue its program in Beytüşşebap district tomorrow.
