Co-mayors Dilek Hatipoğlu and Nurullah Çiftçi, and HDP district co-chair İsmail Sihat Kaya has been detained on August 20 when they went to the courthouse to give their testimonies in relation to a previous house-raid operation against their houses.
Referred to a court with a demand for their arrest, the Kurdish politicians were remanded in custody on alleged charges of “disrupting the unity and territorial integrity of the state”.
Çiftçi, Hatipoğlu and Kaya have been sent to Hakkari Closed Prison.
