Clashes continue between YPG/YPJ fighters and ISIS gangs in Kobanê and Cizîrê cantons of Rojava, said the YPG in a written statement regarding the ongoing fighting in both cantons.

YPG reported that ISIS gangs attempted to carry out an attack in the eastern part of Kobanê, trying to infiltrate the Seferiyê village on the road of Rutkê. Following the strong and immediate response of the YPG/YPJ fighters that noticed and thwarted the attack, fierce clashes took place between the YPG/YPJ and gang groups, according to the statement of the YPG. 2 gang members were captured alive with their ammunition at the end of the clashes, while the other gang members in the group were forced to flee from the area.

Regarding the fighting in Cizîrê canton, the statement said clashes continue between ISIS gangs and YPG/YPJ fighters who carried out an attack on the gang groups in the Mecdel village in the Xerîta region of Til Temir last night, leaving 2 gang members dead.

YPG further reported that the ISIS gangs launched an attack with mortar fires at the border line to the south of Til Hemis last night, to which YPG/YPJ strongly responded.
