YPG Press Centre reported in a written statement that the ISIS threat on the western boundaries of the Cizîr Canton, and the operations of YPG/YPJ fighters continued.

The statement said that bodies of 7 ISIS members and a large quantity of ammunition were seized during the just completed scanning works in the villages of Mişêrfa and Aşra 13 km west of Hesekê which were liberated by YPG/YPJ yesterday. Defense Units also destroyed four vehicles and an anti-aircraft machine gun of the gangs.

The statement said that YPG/YPJ launched an operation to liberate the villages of Xanat and Emero 9 km west of Hesekê last night. The villages were cleansed of gang groups and liberated after the gang groups were repelled from the both in the wake of heavy clashes which left a number of ISIS gangs dead. Bodies of 3 ISIS members and their munitions were also seized.

YPG Press Centre stated that gang groups launched an attack against the recently liberated Emera village last night, as a result of which fierce clashes erupted and lasted till 2 am. A number of ISIS gangs were killed while the exact number of casualties couldn't be verified.

In another operation targeting ISIS-occupied areas in Alya hamlet last night, YPG/YPJ fighters liberated the Lîfaf village and the hamlets of Ehmedê Kino, Mala Ehmet Xelef, Mala Ebû Xelef and Mala Naîf Xelîl. The exact number of ISIS casualties here couldn't be ascertained either.

An ISIS vehicle with gang members inside was destroyed in another attack YPG/YPJ carried out against gang groups in Şêx Recûm village in the same area.

Early this morning, YPG/YPJ conducted an operation to liberate the Hîlal village in the same area. The village was cleansed of gangs and liberated in the wake of heavy clashes, while a tank of the gangs, with munitions and ang members inside, was also destroyed in the village of Hewşa Nasir which is also located in the area of the ongoing heavy fighting.

Joint operation in Kobanê

Recalling that the Kobanê resistance against the occupation attempt of ISIS gangs continued on the 239th day, YPG Press Centre said Defense Units carried out a joint operation with Suvar Al Raqqa fighters in east Kobanê last night.

The operation to liberate Kartêl village and surrounding areas has been completed succesfully, as a result of which the Kartêl village and the strategic Kartêl hill were cleansed of ISIS gangs and liberated.

15 members of the gangs were ascertained killed in the operation, and the corpses of 9 were seized.

The statement added one fighter of the Defense Units was martyred fighting during the operation.
