Clashes between Kurdish forces and ISIS in south Kirkuk

Guerrillas of HPG (Peoples' Defense Forces) and YJA Star (Free Women's Troops) and peshmerga forces are engaged in clashes with ISIS gangs in the sub-district of Meryem Beg on the southern border of Kirkuk city since 7 am this morning. Fighting continues with heavy arms on both sides.

ISIS gangs positioned in the villages of Westanê and Mucammaa Sehid have launches an aggression with heavy arms on the emplacement area of guerrilla and peshmerga forces 1 km away. Heavy clashes erupted in the area upon an immediate and harsh strong by Kurdish forces.

While the heavy fighting continues in some areas, guerrilla and peshmerga commanders stated that ISIS gangs were inflicted heavy losses during the clashes while Kurdish forces suffered none.
