"Barzani should stand against Turkish invasion, not the PKK"

Gorran Movement MP Şêrko Heme Emin criticized KRG Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani’s statement which -he said- should have been directed against Turkish invasion, not the PKK.

The occupant Turkish state has recently increased its attacks against South Kurdistan soil, invaded an area of 30-40 km along the border and massacred dozens of civilians. Still, Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani ignored the Turkish state’s invasion attacks and accused the PKK of being an “occupant force”.

Gorran (Change) Movement MP Şêrko Heme Emin criticized KRG Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani’s statement and recalled that PKK and peshmerga forces had protected and defended the land of South Kurdistan together.

Stressing that Qandil is the symbol of resistance for the Kurds, Emin said; “Everyone has seen how the guerrilla forces in Qandil fought for Kurdistan on the same battle fronts with the peshmerga.”

“The attitude is shameful”

Emin pointed out that the Turkish state actually attacks the status of the Kurds by attacking South Kurdistan, noting that Turkey’s attacks have focused on Afrin recently, and on South Kurdistan at the moment.

“The duty of South Kurdistan and Iraq governments is to manifest a clear stand against Turkish state invasion. However, the attitudes manifested are just shameful.”

“PKK is a Kurdistan force, Kurdistan is also their land”

Emin remarked that Nechirvan Barzani should have actually opposed the Turkish state invasion instead of PKK. He said no state has ever been able to occupy Qandil throughout history, adding; “Qandil has always been the symbol of resistance throughout history, and the basis of Rojhilat (East), Bakur (North) and Bashur (South) Kurdistan revolutions. PKK is a force of Kurdistan and Kurdistan is also their land.”

Recalling that PKK guerrillas had defended the South Kurdistan lands against ISIS mercenaries in 2014, Emin said; “We have seen how the PKK defended South Kurdistan lands against ISIS mercenaries together with the people and peshmerga forces. Today, Kurds must unite and resist against invasion instead of turning a blind eye to it. All parties, NGOs and people should adopt a clear stand against invasion attacks.”

Noting that the Turkish state has caused civilian casualties in its attacks on South Kurdistan, Emin said; “The governments of South Kurdistan and Iraq should launch an investigation and stand against these attacks.”

Emin, according to whom PM Barzani’s statement is directly serving for the Turkish state invasion, added; “This statement had a negative influence on the unity and strategic works of the Kurds in four parts of Kurdistan.”
