HPG and YJA-Star forces carried out an action targeting the Turkish soldiers on Gare hill in Hakkari's Şemdinli district at 23:00 on June 12th night. Guerrillas took the hill under control in a short while and inflicted a blow on the Turkish units.

According to ANF reporters on the ground, at least 20 soldiers were killed as result of the action in which guerrillas used heavy weaponry.

Guerrillas destroyed the arms they seized from soldiers here, and set the military equipment on fire.

Following the action, Turkish jets shelled the Are area and Xakurke region close to the Gare hill.
