Armored vehicle terror claims more civilian lives

An armored vehicle crashed a civilian car in Lice, killing 5 civilians.

An armored police vehicle crashed a civilian car near Kayacık village in Lice district of Amed today. 5 civilians in the car lost their lives, while 5 policemen in the armored vehicle got injured.

Yesterday, another armored police minibus crashed a school bus near Lice, causing the death of two people, one of whom was a kid.

In Beytüşşebap district of Şırnak, an armored vehicle has similarly crashed a civilian car Tuesday evening, as result of which 3 civilians got injured.

It is not the first time that Turkish police and soldiers have killed Kurdish citizens with armored vehicles.

On June 14th, an old woman named Pakize Hazar lost her life when she was hit by an armored vehicle as she was trying to cross the street in Amed’s Lice district center.

On September 6, 2016 a Cobra type armored vehicle had hit 71 year old Naciye Özdemir trying to cross the road in Seyit Rıza Square in Dersim city center, killing the old woman.

Again on February 9, 2017 in Mardin’s Dargeçit district, 7 year old Berfin Dilek was hit and killed by an armored police vehicle on her way home from school.

On April 27, 2017 on Gevran Avenue in Amed city center, 55 year old Hatun Elhuman was hit and killed by a military armored vehicle.

On April 28, 2017 in Van, 2 people were hit by an armored police vehicle and Sami Uçan lost his life in the hospital. Also in Van, 7 people were wounded by armored vehicles in the following week.

Most recently on May 4, 2017 two brothers, Furkan (6) and Muhammed (7) Yıldırım were killed when an armored police vehicle hit their home in Silopi, Şırnak.
